Remembrance Day next week. There is a service on Sunday in Weymouth, as well as several events in and near Bear River. There are also lots of other great events listed below. Enjoy.

NOVEMBER

November Art Exhibition Digby Alvina Theriault LeBlanc

Digby Library. This exhibit features the watercolour work of Alvina Theriault LeBlanc. A French Acadian from Belliveau’s Cove, the artist has been interested in painting since her childhood. The exhibit can be viewed during open hours in November.


Fri Nov 07 Ragtime Music - Lotus Wight & Mike T. Kerr

7pm Oakdene Centre, Bear River. Get ready for an unforgettable night of ragtime, oldtime grooves, and virtuosic string work as two brilliant musicians bring their magic to the Root Cellar. $15 PWYC All ages


Fri Nov 07 The Piano Men: Music of Elton John and Billy Joel

7:30 pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Live music. Adults $45. This full band musical experience will feature vocalist, pianist extraordinaire & tribute artist Jeff Brewer, who has performed internationally to large sold out audiences everywhere! This will be a very interactive show, inviting YOU THE AUDIENCE to sing along to hit after hit to musical anthems that have been the soundtrack to many of our lives! THE LOOK! THE SOUND! THE SHOW!

12pm – 3pm Centrelea Community Hall, 3495 Highway 201. All welcome. Fall fundraiser, pay what you can. This month's guest speaker is Maurya Brown who will be hosting a talk about effective climate action at the local level starting around 1pm.

Wed Nov 12 Eleanor The Great

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Drama PG. Adults $11.95 After seventy years with best friend, Eleanor moves to New York City for a fresh start. Making new friends at ninety proves difficult. Longing for connection, she befriends a 19-year-old student.

Thur Nov 13 George Canyon & Aaron Pritchett – A Cowboy Christmas

3pm and 7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Music. Tickets $95. CCMA winners, and beloved Canadian country superstars George Canyon and Aaron Pritchett unite for their coast-to-coast Cowboy Christmas tour. With countless accolades between them, and over 25 years of hits, the pair will come together to treat fans to some of their own chart-topping songs, as well as some all-time favourite Christmas classics. Truly a show not to be missed, in celebration of the Holiday season.

Fri Nov 28 Art Raffle and mocktails

4-6pm Bear River Community Health Clinic Raffle tickets can be purchased during the event, or during office hours at the clinic Tue-Friday 9:00am-4:00pm starting next week. Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10. The raffle has 14 fine art pieces from local artists including work by; Wayne Boucher, Kathi Dunphy of 2 Old Crows, Rob Buckland-Nicks of Flight of Fancy, Elizabeth Meyer, Gary Fraser, Ray Sanford and more.
