African Heritage Month is being celebrated in Weymouth with three events at Sissiboo Landing. And for those not in Weymouth, there are lots of new events below, both this week and in the weeks and month to come.

Feb Art Exhibition in Weymouth
Photos by Francine can be viewed from February 3 to 28 at Weymouth Library during branch open hours. This exhibit features photographs from Saulnierville-based photographer Francine Chiasson. She enjoys exploring the beauty of the outdoors, capturing it with her camera. She says there is so much to see if we “keep our eyes wide open.”
Mon Feb 16 to 21 Olympic Winter Games Viewing
All day. Digby Library. Stop by during branch open hours to watch some events in the Olympic Winter Games. Cheer on Team Canada with your library! This event will run from February 6 to 21.

Olivier Award-winner Hiran Abeysekera (The Father and the Assassin, Life of Pi) is Hamlet in this fearless, contemporary take on Shakespeare’s famous tragedy. National Theatre Deputy Artistic Director, Robert Hastie (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, Operation Mincemeat) directs this sharp, stylish and darkly funny reimagining.

Wed Mar 18 GOAT
6pm Kings Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, animation, comedy, drama. Adults $11.95. PG. The story follows Will, a small goat with big dreams who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot to join the pros and play roarball – a high-intensity, co-ed, full-contact sport dominated by the fastest, fiercest animals in the world. Will’s new teammates aren’t thrilled about having a little goat on their roster, but Will is determined to revolutionize the sport and prove once and for all that “smalls can ball!”
