Now that February is nearly behind us, I’ve added the April events to the listing—and things are really starting to pick up. With March Break camps appearing and Canadian Film Day on the April horizon, the calendar is getting packed and full of spring time energy.

Feb Art Exhibition in Weymouth

Photos by Francine can be viewed from February 3 to 28 at Weymouth Library during branch open hours. This exhibit features photographs from Saulnierville-based photographer Francine Chiasson. She enjoys exploring the beauty of the outdoors, capturing it with her camera. She says there is so much to see if we “keep our eyes wide open.”


Fri Feb 27 Girls Nite Out

Weymouth Art Exhibition - Needle in Hand, Felt It

Needle felted art by Wendy Mellor! Needle felting is an art form that uses a felting needle to punch wool together to make pictures or objects. Wendy was born and raised in St. Bernard, Nova Scotia. During branch open hours from April 1 to 30, 2026.


Thur Apr 02 Tilt

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Comedy, Improv, Theatre. Adults $30. After a 20 minute scripted introduction, an audience-sourced secret is revealed. What follows is a totally improvised continuation of the story, complete with movement sequences, new characters, and fully realized improvised technical design. Whether the result is a hilarious comedy, a touching drama, or something in between, TILT is a wild ride for both the audience and the performers alike!

Free. “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.


Tue Apr 7 Spring has Sprung!

6 – 7:30pm Weymouth Library. School aged children can join library staff for an evening of fun. Create a spring tube flower, do some trivia, or go bowling! Register no later than April 4 by contacting the library.


Wed Apr 8 Sirāt

7pm Kings Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film. Thriller, Action, Drama. 14A Adults $11.95. A father (Sergi López) and his son arrive at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco. They are searching for Mar — daughter and sister — who vanished months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties.


Sun Apr 12 Othello

2pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Stage to Screen. Adults $16.95. Directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris OBE (War Horse, Dr Semmelweis, The Grinning Man) with music by PJ Harvey with Jon Nicholls, this epic story of manipulation, jealousy and toxic masculinity explores the darker side of power, rage and desire. Filmed live at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London especially for the big screen, this is ‘an electrifying star-studded Othello.’

Journey through all the Eagles’ signature sounds, from country rock to hard rocking tunes highlighting their extraordinary catalogue, with lush vocal harmonies and exceptional musical accuracy.


Wed Apr 15 The Furies

10:15 am King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal Film Free National Canadian Film Day. Film, comedy. PG Free. French (English subtitles) When Waterloo gets a new semi-pro men’s hockey team, the local women’s amateur leagues are kicked out of the arena. Determined to avenge their lost ice time, an impulsive hockey player teams up with a local roller derby legend to recruit the town’s outcasts and form an underground roller derby team.

However, when he arrives in the big city, his world is forever changed as he witnesses the first arrival of Europeans to the continent, and the devastation that follows.

Film, drama PG Inuktitut (English subtitles) In this gorgeous retelling of an Inuit legend set in 2000 BCE, two young Inuit lovers in Igloolik, Kaujak and Sapa, are destined to be together. When Kaujak’s father dies, and his mother remarries, Kaujuk is separated from his soulmate and, in desperation, they turn to a shaman to help them be together.

Wed Apr 15 Nirvana

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal Film Free National Canadian Film Day. Film, comedy. PG Based on the hit series Nirvanna the Band the Show, longtime friends and bandmates Matt (Matt Johnson) and Jay (Jay McCarrol) have been trying for over a dozen years to book a show for their band at The Rivoli through zany, unconventional methods. When their latest (and most outlandish) effort leads to them accidentally travelling back in time, they get taken on an adventure that threatens to change everything.

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Live music. $35. Colin Maier (oboe, saw, vocals, from Quartetto Gelato) & Mark Camilleri (pianist and music director for The Tenors) are JoyRide. Their mastery and versatility in a smorgasbord of styles has Colin switching gears between oboe, voice, pennywhistle and even the musical saw in a high-energy romp that shows off their taste for fun.

Fri 7:30pm, Sat 7:30pm, Sun 3pm. King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Adults $22 “Don’t underestimate the power of a glimpse of lingerie!” The renowned (and award-winning) comic actor and author, Steve Martin, is behind this deceivingly simple yet wickedly satirical adaptation of Carl Sternheim’s 1910 cheeky farce. This comedy of errors is set around the turn of the last century, but feels timeless, dealing with social constraints and gender politics, bourgeois morality, and the ever-elusive phenomenon of 15-minutes of fame (or infamy).

All day, Digby Library. Stop by the library to donate a plant or adopt a new one! Please bring healthy plants in containers that you no longer need. Make sure it has a clear label that says what type of plant it is. This program will run from April 28 to May 9 during branch open hours.
