Canada Day in Weymouth! We'll have a parade, a duck race, vendor market, cake cutting, lip sync competition, kids games, bouncy castle, live music, pork BBQ and fireworks. See you here!

Weymouth Library Exhibition: Len Dow

Len Dow’s paintings will be on display from May 5 to June 30 during open hours. Dow paints with acrylic on canvas. His love of Nova Scotia and fishing boats is represented in this exhibit. This collection is titled La Baie Saint Marie est mon petit coin du monde

(1755).

Join us for two days with the incredible Alex McLean of Zuppa Theatre, Kjipuktuk/Halifax. Using games, exercises and short performance scenarios, we will explore the world of acting in this two-day workshop. This workshop is FREE, but SPACE IS LIMITED! Registration is required. Ages 18+

Sun Jun 28 El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego

3pm King’s Theatre, Annaploi5s Royal. Stage to Screen. Adults $16.95. American composer Gabriela Lena Frank makes her Met debut with her first opera, a magical-realist portrait of Mexico’s painterly power couple Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, with libretto by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Nilo Cruz. Fashioned as a reversal of the Orpheus and Euridice myth, the story depicts Frida, sung by leading mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard, leaving the underworld on the Day of the Dead and reuniting with Diego, portrayed by baritone Carlos Álvarez. The famously feuding pair briefly relive their tumultuous love, embracing both the passion and the pain before bidding the land of the living a final farewell.

Jul 2 Weymouth Library Art Exhibition: A Legacy of Textiles

Weymouth Library exhibits creations made by members of the Weymouth Makers group. They feature a variety of textile techniques. This exhibit celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, and the passing of skills through generations. This exhibit carries more than just fibres. It carries stories, memory, and culture. It connects to both the past and the present. This exhibit is on display during open hours from July 2 to August 29, 2026.

Thur Jul 2 Little Lorraine

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Crime, Drama, 14A. Adults $11.95. Little Lorraine, a North Atlantic seaside town with a population of 60, becomes embroiled in an international cocaine smuggling operation under the noses of multiple governments, distributed in coffins through a network of funeral homes.

A beacon for Jamaican music and culture in Atlantic Canada, Jah’Mila’s music embodies the spirit of traditional Jamaican roots reggae music, infused with light elements of jazz and soul.

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Live music. Adults $45. Women-led Flamenco Mediterranean Fusion, Tamar Ilana & Ventanas is a 6-piece global music and flamenco band based in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2011 by “powerhouse vocalist” (Downbeat Magazine) and Jewish-Indigenous artist Tamar Ilana, they’ve received 4 CFMA nominations, and toured across Canada, the US, Colombia, Portugal, Ireland and Spain. They released their 4th album, AZADI, in 2024: original compositions that reflect on backgrounds including Flamenco, Sephardic, Balkan, Greek, Turkish, Jazz, Pop, Classical and Mediterranean folk.

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Live Music. Adults $45. Aquakultre is the artistic voice of Lance Sampson — soul singer and storyteller from Halifax, Nova Scotia. This show features original music and stories that celebrate African Nova Scotia history and culture.


Sat Aug 22 The Final Recordings of an Almost Extinct Bird

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Adults $40. “Final Recordings” is where TEDTalk, sob story, and cottagecore collide. Fred has a lot on his mind. The origins of the universe, for starters. The fabric of space-time, too. The formation of the Earth, plate tectonics, the fossil record, gravitational waves, dark matter, winding valley roads, campfires, pottery cafes—the list goes on and on. There’s also the matter of the giant salty egg, the man in the comfy blue chair, and the burning question: “Is this good? What I’m doing? With my time?”


Sat Aug 29 Gypsy: The Premiere Fleetwood Mac Tribute

The “Gypsy” Fleetwood Mac experience is a truly authentic representation of this multiple award-winning groups very best songs of all time, including Stevie Nicks duets with Don Henley and Tom Petty.
