This week offers a lively mix of events from talks, workshops, yard sales, and craft markets to live music and a seedy Saturday. Mid‑week brings cooking clubs, button‑making, first aid training, and a special ChatGPT session for seniors, as well as a full day of free Canadian Film Day screenings at King’s Theatre.

Weymouth Art Exhibition - Needle in Hand, Felt It

Needle felted art by Wendy Mellor! Needle felting is an art form that uses a felting needle to punch wool together to make pictures or objects. Wendy was born and raised in St. Bernard, Nova Scotia. During branch open hours from April 1 to 30, 2026.


Apr 1 to Apr 30 Free Low Income Tax Clinic

12:30-4:30 pm Digby Library. Appointments are available on select Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in March and April. Get your income tax filed at the library! CRA registered volunteers will file your taxes online. Drop your forms off during library open hours, or book an appointment to file in person.

3pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, Animation, Comedy, G. Adults $11.95. Scientists have discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! The adventure introduces Mabel, an animal lover who seizes an opportunity to use the technology, uncovering mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.

Directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris OBE (War Horse, Dr. Semmelweis, The Grinning Man) with music by PJ Harvey with Jon Nicholls, this epic story of manipulation, jealousy and toxic masculinity explores the darker side of power, rage and desire. Filmed live at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London especially for the big screen, this is ‘an electrifying star-studded Othello.’

Wed Apr 15 The Furies

10:15 am King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal Film Free National Canadian Film Day. Film, comedy. PG Free. French (English subtitles) When Waterloo gets a new semi-pro men’s hockey team, the local women’s amateur leagues are kicked out of the arena. Determined to avenge their lost ice time, an impulsive hockey player teams up with a local roller derby legend to recruit the town’s outcasts and form an underground roller derby team.

Film, Action/Adventure, Animation, Family PG Ten-year-old Teplupai has always wanted to be a spiritual leader, but nobody will take him seriously. When a tax collector takes away his village’s sacred treasure, he sets off on a quest to find and reclaim it. However, when he arrives in the big city, his world is forever changed as he witnesses the first arrival of Europeans to the continent, and the devastation that follows.

Film, drama PG Inuktitut (English subtitles) In this gorgeous retelling of an Inuit legend set in 2000 BCE, two young Inuit lovers in Igloolik, Kaujak and Sapa, are destined to be together. When Kaujak’s father dies, and his mother remarries, Kaujuk is separated from his soulmate and, in desperation, they turn to a shaman to help them be together.

7pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal Film Free National Canadian Film Day. Film, comedy. PG Based on the hit series Nirvanna the Band the Show, longtime friends and bandmates Matt (Matt Johnson) and Jay (Jay McCarrol) have been trying for over a dozen years to book a show for their band at The Rivoli through zany, unconventional methods. When their latest (and most outlandish) effort leads to them accidentally travelling back in time, they get taken on an adventure that threatens to change everything.
