CORAH is a Nova Scotia Community College program that offers social, cultural, learning and recreational activities for people 55 years of age and older. Weymouth Library Art Exhibition: Lake Side Art Group

Members of the Lake Side Art Group will exhibit works in a variety of media and with various themes during open hours from Feb. 6 to 29.

Sat Feb 3 Celebrate African Heritage Month

11-12pm Weymouth Library  A story sharing session will be hosted by Carmelita Johnson, who will read from books by Jamaican author Cedella Marley. Marley has several children’s books based on her father Bob Marley’s songs. This program is in partnership with Turning the Tide-Inspiring Communities. Register no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Storm date and time is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a registration deadline of 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.


Sat Feb 3 Old Man Luedecke at 7:30pm at King's Theatre

Live Music. Old Man Luedecke is a 2x JUNO and multi East Coast Music Award-winner, and Polaris Music Prize nominee from Chester, Nova Scotia. Since 2004 he has travelled the world playing festivals, theatres and clubs. He delights his audiences with his heart-felt command of the stage. Plus, his inspired banjo playing and wry storytelling cut to the heart of normal/extraordinary experience itself.

2-4pm Oakdene Centre, Bear River. A community art project to craft unique birds in remembrance of the children killed in Israel’s war on Gaza. Open to all ages. Suggested donation $5-20

Wed Feb 7 The Boys in the Boat

The Boys in the Boat is a sports drama based on the #1 New York Times bestselling non-fiction novel written by Daniel James Brown. The film, directed by George Clooney, is about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin.
