Weymouth Library May Exhibition: The Gifts of Mother Earth

Debbie LeBlanc Kilpatrick is an Acadian artist from Clare. She started painting as a young girl. As she has grown as an artist, she has developed a style which captures the beauty of the land and sea.


Digby Library May Exhibition: Hika’s Folk Art

This exhibit offers folk art paintings on canvas and wood, featuring a variety of animals by artist Hika Wagner. The artist has been painting since 2001 on driftwood, canvas, rocks, and buoys. She mostly paints animals and her favourite subjects are cats.


Wed May 07 The Ballad of Wallis Island

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Film, indie. $11.95 Adult. $7.95 Youth (under 18). THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND follows Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer (Tom Basden & Carey Mulligan) back together. His fantasy turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.

7pm – 10 pm Free will offering. Bring a friend, meet a neighbour. Dancing will be called by the inimitable Niamh webster! Very simple dances with a caller.

7:30pm King’s Theatre. Live Music. Adult: $45. Youth $15. Donna Huber has been on the road since 1996 with the world’s #1 Shania Twain Tribute Act. She’s got the moves, the music, the magic.

8pm Bear River Legion, $15 for 19+. The Big Country Ramblers are bringing their signature mix of high energy bluegrass, old-time, country, blues, and more to the Bear River Legion for a Country Jamboree! Expect hot pickin’, sweet harmonies, and dance-floor-shakin’ tunes all night long. Limited advanced tickets for the Big Country Ramblers are available at the Bear River Grocery!
