Scallop Days this weekend in Digby. I have also added lots of events from the libraries and King's Theatre, and that started the October listing. So lots of things to add to your calendar.

Jul 2 Weymouth Library Art Exhibition: A Legacy of Textiles

Weymouth Library exhibits creations made by members of the Weymouth Makers group. They feature a variety of textile techniques. This exhibit celebrates craftsmanship, tradition, and the passing of skills through generations. This exhibit carries more than just fibres. It carries stories, memory, and culture. It connects to both the past and the present. This exhibit is on display during open hours in July and August.

Fri Aug 7 and Sat 8 Aug Deep Sea Scavenger Hunt

8am – 6pm Digby Library. Pop into the library to take part in our deep sea scavenger hunt! Find all the hidden images and you can get a little something from our treasure chest. This program runs from August 4 to 8 during branch open hours.

7:30pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Live music. Adults $45. Women-led Flamenco Mediterranean Fusion, Tamar Ilana & Ventanas is a 6-piece global music and flamenco band based in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2011 by “powerhouse vocalist” (Downbeat Magazine) and Jewish-Indigenous artist Tamar Ilana, they’ve received 4 CFMA nominations, and toured across Canada, the US, Colombia, Portugal, Ireland and Spain. They released their 4th album, AZADI, in 2024: original compositions that reflect on backgrounds including Flamenco, Sephardic, Balkan, Greek, Turkish, Jazz, Pop, Classical and Mediterranean folk.

6pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Stage to Screen, PG Adults $18.95. Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch.

Wed Aug 19 Tracy and Martina: Goin’ Out West

Two Cape Breton best friends head west to Alberta for the first time with the hopes of making a few bucks as they open for a local band, but things go south when their accommodations fall through and they run out of money before booking a flight back home. The film was directed by Canadian filmmaker Brendan Langelle Lyle, and was nominated for Best Feature Film at the Screen Nova Scotia Awards.

Sat Oct 31 The Rocky Horror Show – Live!

8pm King’s Theatre, Annapolis Royal. Community Theatre. Adults $45. Premiering 50 years after the 1975 film, this live-stage rock-musical production honours the original’s defiant spirit. Rocky Horror broke taboos around gender, sexuality, and performance—becoming a cult refuge for outsiders and queer communities for generations. Now, in rural Nova Scotia, queer culture continues to evolve and invite everyone to participate, in direct opposition to growing global tensions, making this production more vital than ever. After a sold out run in Wolfville in the Fall of 2025, this high energy, vaudville-style, gender-bending production comes to the King’s Theatre stage on Halloween night, featuring a dozen actors and a live band.
