Gates Lane suddenly closed

Gates Lane has been suddenly unexpectedly closed, with no consultation, usage monitoring or warning. We are concerned that it is not to be repaired but decommissioned. This bridge is not only useful but essential in times of emergency. Please contact Jill Balser (MLA for Digby email

Weymouth Library Art Exhibition: Hooked Rugs by Cindy

This display features the hooked rugs out of wool and yarn by Cindy Cromwell. The artist designed some her work and used the patterns of others for some of the pieces. She is a member of Rustic Crafters. It can be viewed during open hours in January.

Tues Jan 23 to Sat Jan 27 Craft Supply Swap

Senator Ambroise H. Comeau Memorial Library (Meteghan). Clean out your stash of craft supplies you’re not going to use and swap them for supplies you can use. Drop off unwanted, usable items during open hours starting Tuesday, Jan. 23. On Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27, the swap will be open for everyone to take home some crafting goodies. Leftover items will be given to local organizations. This is for all ages.

Sat Feb 3 Celebrate African Heritage Month

11-12pm Weymouth Library A story sharing session will be hosted by Carmelita Johnson, who will read from books by Jamaican author Cedella Marley. Marley has several children’s books based on her father Bob Marley’s songs. This program is in partnership with Turning the Tide-Inspiring Communities. Register no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2. Storm date and time is 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6 with a registration deadline of 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3.

Sat Feb 17 African Heritage Story Sharing

12-1pm Digby Library Celebrate African Heritage Month with a story-sharing session hosted by Carmelita Johnson, featuring the lyrics and universal love of the late Jamaican musician Bob Marley. Learn about Marley’s impact through the children’s books based on his songs by his daughter Cedella Marley. This program is in partnership with Turning the Tide-Inspiring Communities.


Thur Feb 22 Watato Childrens Choir

7pm SMBA Weymouth The Watoto Children’s Choir is Touring Canada once again, and the choir is making a stop in Weymouth, Nova Scotia on Thursday, February 22nd for a concert at the St. Mary's Bay Academy High School from 7:00pm-8:30pm. FREE to attend. All are Welcome.
