Summer is fine. Now the humidity has dropped, the rain has stopped and the sun has come out, may the crops and fruit ripen, the water splash and the mosquitoes stay away!

Aug. 3 String Painting

6 to 7:30 p.m. Digby Library Let’s have some fun learning a new technique, painting in acrylic with string. This technique can also be used with watercolour and ink. This program is for adults. Register no later than Saturday, July 29.

Aug. 3, ‘Board’ at the Library

1 to 4 p.m. Clare Library. Drop in to play various board games. Bring friends or make new ones, and try something new or play old favourites. This program is for all ages.

Aug. 10 Fun with Makey Makey

2 to 3 p.m. Clare Library Children can play with Makey Makey at the library. Just clip Makey Makey clips to an object. When you touch that object, the computer thinks you’re pressing the keyboard. By mimicking a keyboard and mouse the Makey Makey lets you control any computer program with everyday objects. Register no later than Tuesday, Aug. 8 by contacting the library.

Aug 10 Un-bee-lievable!

10 to 11 a.m. Weymouth Library Children aged 4 to 8 years can buzz over to the library for fun and creative activities about bees. Participants will draw, colour and wear their creations! Register before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9 by contacting the library.

Aug 10 African Drumming Workshop
